Acute Illness in Children: New Training DVD

Spotting the Sick Child DVDThe Department has commissioned a new DVD training aid on recognising acute illness in childhood "Spotting the Sick Child". This product has been endorsed by the Faculty of A&E Medicine and by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. The DVD includes a large amount of video footage (nearly 3½ hours) of children mildly, moderately and severely ill.

The DVD covers the top seven presenting acute illnesses in children - fever, difficulty in breathing, dehydration, fitting, head injury, rashes and abdominal pain.

The format is interactive with small, easily navigable sections and large screen capability.

It is especially geared for General Practitioners, A&E Doctors, Nurses working in GP surgeries, paediatric wards, and A&E, Nursing practitioners, Paediatricians in training, Doctors in Foundation programmes, Medical students, Health Visitors, Paramedics and Emergency Care Practitioners.
