I am a consultant in paediatric emergency medicine working in a busy general hospital in London.
I have a keen interest in teaching and simulation - particularly insitu multi disciplinary simualtion to really help the team work together as people and improve the resources available to help the team dealing with emergencies.

Fran is a paediatric emergency medicine consultant at St Mary’s Hospital, London. She enjoys complementing her passion for clinical work with that for research, leadership development and education. Staying curious about how our health system works, she likes to work with others across it to innovate improvements that can keep our children safe and healthy, and receiving the best care when they need it.

Dr Ffion Davies
Position: College of Emergency Medicine Representative
Dr Ffion Davies is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with a special interest in paediatrics, who works at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. She likes to demystify paediatrics for Emergency Medicine clinicians and likes to challenge the scope of practice in Emergency Departments so that children get a better deal. Sometimes Royal Colleges and even the Department of Health listen to her.

Dr Dani Hall
Position: Events Organiser & APEM Rep on the Intercollegiate Committee for Standards of Urgent and Emergency Care in Children
Despite being the only girl to fail the school Religious Education exam in Year 7, Dani persevered in her academic studies graduating from Oxford and London Universities, and is fulfilling her dream job as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant. When she isn't busy making packed lunches or rushing her two monkies between swimming and ballet lessons she can be found at Lewisham Hospital in London. She has a particular interest in simulation training and is hoping to squeeze in a postgrad diploma, or even a masters, in medical education, if the kids ever let her near the laptop.
Dr Stuart Hartshorn
Position: Website Manager
Stuart is a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Birmingham Children's Hospital. He has a particular interest in clinical guideline development and multi-centre research in PEM.
Stuart is responsible for the general upkeep of the APEM website. Contrary to the opinion of several of his colleagues, Stuart is not an IT geek (!) but he does believe in the importance of information sharing and making clinical resources as easy to access as possible.

Dr Claire Kirby
Position: EMTA Representative
Claire is an Emergency Medicine trainee in North East London who is just finishing a Paediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty OOPE at the Royal London Hospital.
Within PEM her intersts include trauma, simulation and adolescent health. She would like to improve links between CEM PEM and paediatric EM grid trainees during their training years.
Dr Jacqueline Le Geyt
Position: Grid PEM Trainees Representative
Jacqui is an ST6 GRID trainee in Paediatric Emergency Medicine currently working in the Children's Emergency Department in Brighton. She has a special interest in simulation and clinical education. Jacqui loves roaming the globe, and has spent time working in Kenya, Myanmar and Australia. Please get in touch on the email above with any trainee issues.
Dr Ian Maconochie
Position: Research Advisor
A member since 1996 of BPAEG. I helped to found APEM and was elected Secretary of APEM in 2002. Its establishment has led to paediatric emergency medicine being recognised as a specialty, with considerable support and help from FAEM/BAEM (which has continued as the FCEM) and RCPCH. I was appointed as Chair in August 2003 (alongisde with the role of Specialty Convenor for APEM) and stepped down in 2009, taking up the post of research lead for APEM. I am a training adviser to the Accident and Emergency CSAC at the RCPCH, since 2006 (to demit in 2010 after the Autumn meeting).
Dr Jo Stone
Position: EMTA Representative
Jo is an ST7 Emergency Medicine trainee in South Yorkshire and currently works at Sheffield Children's hospital doing her PEM sub-specialty training. Her interests include musculoskeletal medicine and toxicology.
Working with Claire as the PEM representative, she aims to keep all CEM trainees up to date with all aspects of training and try to resolve any issues that may arise on their behalf
